BIRTHDAY WISH

My birthday was approaching and I wanted that year asking for a special wish to blow out the candles on my cake. Walking through the park I sat next to a homeless sitting on a bench, the most remote, watching two birds fluttering around the pond and I was curious to see a man looking left, watching the birds with a smile on the face that seemed eternal.

I approached him with the intention of asking why I was so happy. I also wanted to feel lucky to talk with him more about how proud of my possessions I was, because I was a man who lacked nothing, I had my work that I produced a lot of money, of course how wouldnt am I going to produced so much if I work so hard?, had my children who, thanks to my efforts will not lack anything and had the toys they wanted to have. Finally thanks to my endless hours of work did not lack anything to my family.

I went to the man and asked, "Sr. what would you ask you for your birthday? Thinking that the man I would answer me money so I pass him a few bills I had and do the charity of the year. You do not know the man my amazement when I answer the following with the same smile on his face that he had not been deleted and will never be erased, "Friend, if you should ask more than what I have would be very selfish, I've had everything a man needs in life and more.

I lived with my parents and my brother before losing a June afternoon, long ago, I met the love of my father and mother who dedicated her for giving me all the love that is possible within our financial limitations. When you lose, I suffered a lot but I understood that there are others who never knew that love, I have and I felt better. As a young man I met a girl that I fell in love, one day I kissed her and exploded in me a love that girl so beautiful that when then left, my heart ached so much ... I remember that moment and I think there are people who have never known love and I feel better.

A day in the park chasing a boy fell and began to mourn, I was, helped him up, wiped her tears with my hands and played with him for a moment longer and although I felt it was my son father and I was happy because I thought that many have not known that feeling. When I feel cold and hungry winter, I remember my mother's food and the warmth of our small house and I feel better because there are others who never have felt and feel might not ever.

When I get two pieces of bread with another beggar share a road and feel the pleasure it gives to share with those in need, and I remember that there are some who will never feel this. My dear friend, what else I can ask God or life when I had it all, and most importantly is that I'm aware of it. I can see life in its simplest expression, as these two pigeons playing, what do you need them? like me, nothing ... We are grateful to Heaven for this, and I know you will soon be available.

I looked at the ground one second lost in the greatness of the words of one scholar who had opened my eyes in its simplicity, when I looked to my side and was not just popcorn and a huge regret the way he had lived without having known life. I never thought that beggar, was probably an angel sent by the Lord, give me the most precious gift you can give a human being ... Humility.

Stop and Think

It seems that when we hurry and we are behind, just tripping over red lights. Although irritating when we run to an appointment, the lights are there for our protection.

We also need traffic lights throughout our day. Hard work and agendas well charged with interruptions need time for recreation and reflection. Without that we seriously ill with ailments caused by stress. The time devoted to recreation and relaxation can rejuvenate our spirit. This poem W.H. Davies tells us to take time to pause and consider:

What is this life if, full of worries,
do not have time to stop and contemplate.
No time to stand under the branches
And stare at the sheep or cows.
No time to see, when passing through forests,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see the full light of day,
Streams full of stars, as stars of the night.
There are two ways to pass along our busy lives. One is to stop thinking. The second is to stop and think. Many live on the first shape. Fill every hour with ceaseless activity. They dare not be alone. No time for quiet reflection on life. The second way, stop and think, is to contemplate what life is and to what end we live. The literal meaning of the word Sabbath is to stop doing what you're doing.

On this day, give yourself a mini-vacation for five to ten minutes. Just stay quiet and listen to what God says. Spend time alone with God.

Is there a way out of a cycle of destruction?

By Jason Frenn

In the late '90s, I sat with my three daughters in a movie theater watching "The Parent Trap," a Disney movie. "Who is that talented young lady?" I asked myself. I was amazed how this 11-year-old mastered two diverse characters and captured the hearts of audiences around the world. "This girl could become one of the greatest," I thought.

More than 12 years later, that adorable actress, Lindsay Lohan, stands at a crucial crossroads facing a debilitating addiction. Recently, a Los Angeles judge ordered her back into drug rehab, rather than send her to jail, after she failed a drug test. It was just the latest in a series of high-profile battles with addiction and other problems for the troubled actress.

If she breaks the cycle of destructive behavior, she can live a phenomenal life filled with joy, meaning and significance and eventually pass on a great heritage to her kids. But if the destructive patterns are not broken, I am deeply concerned that she will constantly flounder in survival mode.

In light of her situation and the millions of people like her who want to break the cycle of destructive behavior, I feel deeply impressed to share four principles that promise dynamic change. So if you come from a great family or a crazy one like mine -- one plagued by alcoholism, dysfunction and nine divorces among my parents and stepfather - this will help you break the destructive patterns in your life.

First, if you want to change, I mean really want to change, you must find a reason (a why) that is bigger than any temptation, distraction or excuse that you can conjure up. When your "why" is bigger than your "but," change will be inevitable. So find something that you hold near and dear to your heart and make it your reason for change.

Second, breaking the cycle requires that we fill the void with godly habits, ones that move us in a healthy and productive direction. So don't allow anyone to mislead you. A higher power only works if it's The Higher Power. Change comes when we unequivocally and unconditionally yield our lives and will to God. That's why reading your Bible, meditating on the Proverbs, praying before you begin your hectic day and spending time once a week with others who want to study the Bible is imperative. This step alone will help you make a quantum leap in your quest to break the destructive patterns in your life.

Third, find friends that will pull you up instead of tear you down. Eliminate the relationships that bring out the worst in you. Look to form relationships with those who will promote a godly and healthy life. These people will make huge deposits in your emotional account, and when you need someone to count on when the chips are down, they will pull you through and bring out the best in you. They are not fair weather friends.

Fourth, learn to forgive those who have offended you. Forgive your parents, your enemies, people in your field, and, yes, even those who don't seek forgiveness. Most importantly, learn to forgive yourself. Remember, forgiveness is not an emotion. It's a decision. If we don't forgive, it's like the poison we drink hoping someone else will die. We are the ones who wind up affected.

We need to remember that popularity and fame are temporary. The adoration of the masses ebbs and flows like the tides of the ocean, and with time, it quickly fades away. But God's love for you will never cease or diminish. To Him, you will always be the apple of His eye - someone extremely important and valuable.

God gives us all a second chance. Allow Him to guide you through the turbulent waters to a place of true meaning and significance. I believe that with His help, you will break the destructive patterns in your life and live a life of incredible fruitfulness, freedom and victory.

Be Solid!

Be Solid

Be solid as a rock! whenever the enemies surround us, fear not! cause we are solid as a Rock! this is a part of a song but I think goes according with the Word of God.

If you help somebody, you're solid! If you make that drunk person wants to be sober again and follow Jesus...you are solid! If your smile makes a difference... you are solid! If you are an example to others, then you are solid!

Make sure your life, no matter what, makes a difference whenever you are, and be a solid person in Christ!

Ephesians 6:10 - The Armor of God

The Armor of God

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Options

what options do we have? Live a life with no goals? Live a life with no regrets? Live a life with a full agenda? Spend all the money 'cause anyway we are not taking it when we die? Do something about the world? ...etc! There are millions of options to take but not all are the best to each one of us, right? We all are diferent from each other, either our way to be or think or our gifts... but all of us got the OPTION to follow the ONE Lord and Savior, Jesuschrist! The best option we have and we can share to the rest of the people.
